Welcome Continued

We hosted our first season of competition and had many successful meets culminating with our first National Championship competition. We included both men's and women's compulsories and optionals beginning with Level 2 in two divisions.

We began registration in January of 2007 and our goal of registering 5,000 athletes by the end of June was accomplished. The subsequent goal, 10,000 registrations by the end of December, has already become a reality.

The outstanding insurance program offered to AmeriKids Gymnastics members by the Foy Insurance Group has been reported to have saved tens of thousands of dollars for those participating clubs. We thank Foy Insurance for working so diligently to service our Association.

To those of you that have been a part of the growth of this new Association, we extend hearty congratulations on our achievements to date. To those of you thinking of joining us, thank you for your consideration. The future of our Association is predicated on numbers. The insurance and banking industries, corporate entities, advertising industry and on and on are interested in numbers -- the larger our Association is, the better our negotiating position becomes.

Support your local AmeriKids competitions and help AmeriKids grow by running meets yourself and possibly attending a National Meet. Take advantage of staff educational opportunities by hosting seminars or attending seminars in your area.

Revisit our website to find out what's going on or make suggestions as to content. Submit issues that need attention so we can be responsive to your individual needs. Contact any of the National Committee members with questions, concerns or comments. We are here to be the advocate for the entire gymnastics community – small gym owners as well as large, coaches and instructors, parents and athletes, vendors and suppliers. We are your voice of gymnastics professionalism.
